My Account- This page is heart of your profile. This is where you can change and or update your personal information, favorites, groups and settings.
Profile- This page (if privacy settings are set to public) is what other FAVsmile users will view see. It contains your favorites, the groups you belong to and has a comment wall that anyone including you can write on.
Polls- On this page the favorites of everyone can be polled, by question. The polls can be customized for a more specific search. Every user's favorites are included, however they are anonymous to protect the privacy of our private profiles.
Groups- This page you can create, join, view and search user created groups. Each group contains a comment wall and polls that only inlcude the members of that specific group. The creator of each group also has the ability to invite current users of FAVsmile and non-users to join their group by email. The creator also has the benefit to print out their group's unique mobile bar-code so that users of the FAVsmile mobile app can join their groups from anywhere.
Search Users- This page is pretty self-explanatory. Here you can search for your family, friends, clients, anyone's profiles. Remember only public profiles will be shown.
1.How does FAVsmile differ from other social networking sites such as Facebook?
On sites like Facebook, they concentrate their efforts to connect friends and share stories and pictures. FAVsmile is not a social network, but rather an online information bank of Favorites. A site without friends lists, a community to make people smile.
2.What is the privacy setting?
Your information and answers are pre-set to be seen by any user, however by using the privacy setting on your user page you can choose to have your page completely private and your answers will only be used to be included in polling information.
3.Why would someone choose to have their page private and only used for polling?
Simple, everybody’s vote counts! Have your favorites known, even though you choose to not share them directly with the world. Not to mention, you have to be a registered user to log-in and search and view other profiles.
4.Do I have to fill out everything asked?
No, you can choose what questions you fill out. There are certain fields that are required when you open an account. Name, location, age, email, password, gender are required. There are optional fields such as occupation, marital status, picture, and distinguishing feature.
5.What is considered abuse?
Pornography, racism and profanity are not allowed and are considered abuse. Users that observe or are being abused in any manner should contact us at abuse@favsmile.com.
6.Copyright and or Trademark infractions?

8.Are the polls 100% accurate?
The polls are based on user answers, therefore answers CAN NOT be 100% accurate.
9.Forgot your ID/password?
Your ID is you email address and password can be emailed to your account.
10.Can’t find a user?
Name, location, picture, email and distinguishing feature are available to make searching easier. Try to have as many fields filled out to maximize your chances of a successful search. However, everyone needs to sign up and fill out each answer to be located on our site. Feel free to share our site with others! Another reason you may not be able to find a user is that their profile is set to private.

12.Why are there two sets of answers for some questions?
Everyone can have very specific answers and to make polling of information easier we have provided a drop down answer box for polling and a text only spot for specific answers. Example, what is your favorite liquor drink? Answer Grey Goose martini with 3 olives, drop down answer Grey Goose.
13.Comment and message walls.
Each user account has a comment and message feature. Comment walls are public and can be controlled by each user, unless user account is set to private. The message wall is private and only can be seen by the user. ***Updated 2-16-2012. Due to unwanted spam sent to our users, we have modified the messaging feature. As of today (2-16-12) the messaging feature has been removed from your profiles and will be used only for communication with FAVsmile Admins. As of today (2-16-12) we also added a user controlled privacy feature for your comment wall on your profile. A comment wall set to private (This control can be found on your "my account" page) will remove the comment wall from your profile and no user will be able to write comments on your profile. A wall set to publc will act as before, and anyone can write on your wall.***
14.Are there Friend lists or friend requests?
No, anybody who is a valid member of favsmile.com can view the information you place on your user page. You can choose to make your account private, which will not allow any user to view your information. These controls can be found on your user page.
15.Have a story to share with us? Did our site help make you smile?

16.Do you want to delete your account?
Email us at support@favsmile.com Please Include your email address and your name.
17.Questions pertaining to any alcohol content will only be shown to views whose age bracket is 21+.
18. Not getting email updates from FAVsmile?
Make sure you check your spam within your email account. Set any email from FAVsmile not to spam.
We also have no desire to bombard our users with constant email updates....From time to time we will send out updates via email, however the majority of our updates are posted on our social networking links. So please take a moment and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
19. Has FAVsmile ever sold or shared a User's email address or other information?
NO! FAVsmile was created to offer the world a community to share their favorites, not make money off their email addresses.
GROUPS
1. What are groups?
This feature gives the user the ability to create their own groups of users based on any similiar trait they see fit. Now the user will be able to start their own community of favorites.
2. Why create or join a group?
The reasons are truly limitless! Start a group for your family, friends, clients, anyone and anything. This feature will help you easily find users and provide polling for the group members only. When you start your own group, you can invite current users and non-users of FAVsmile to join via an easy email invite feature. Check it out!!
Why Join a business's group? If you want better service, share your favorite things with them...they will then know how to serve you better, serve you on a more personal level. Dont be just another number on their accounting books, be a real person!
3. Privacy and groups.
If your profile has been set to "private", your account will not be shown anywhere. However, you will show up as a member of the group and your answers will be included in the group's polls.
4. What is the difference between the group types?
A public group can be viewed and joined by any user. A private group can only be viewed by the members of the group and can only be joined with the approval of the group creator. Browse Only groups can be viewed by everyone, but can only be joined be users who fit the criteria of the specific group.
5. How can I join a Private group?
The group creator can invite users and non-users by email or users can request entry on the group list.
6. I have requested entry to a group and have not been approved?
The timing of invite approval can vary greatly since it is controlled by each group creator.
7. I want to join or start a Browse Only group.
The Browse Only groups are created and run by the Admins of FAVsmile. If you qualify to join a group you can request entry or email us. Do you want to have a Browse Only group created, email us at support@favsmile.com.
8. Can anyone create a group?
Yes, any user can create a Public or Private group.
9. What are group catagories?
They are provided to help the user search and browse through the groups.
10. How do I invite people to join my group?
On each group page there is a invite feature. You can invite current users of FAVsmile and non-users. Both invites are sent via email. Each invite is sent via email, to current users and FAVsmile and non-users. Each email contains a link to join the group; if a non-user clicks the link to register to join FAVsmile, they are automatically joined into the group. If a current user clicks the link, they are also automatically joined to the group or they can join the group manually with the information they find on the email.
11. How do I print out my Bar-Code for my group?
Each group has its own unique Bar-Code to interact with our mobile application. These Bar-Codes will allow mobile users to quickly and easily scan your Bar-Code to join your group remotely. If you are the creator of the group you will see a link "View and Print group Bar-Code" on the front page of your group page. This will take you to tha print-out which can then beedited and then printed on any standard printer on any standard 8.5*11" paper.
12. Why would I want to print out my Bar-Code for others to see?
The reasons are endless, but simply we want to help businesses improve their customer service. If a client wants better service and a business wants to offer it, what better way to accomplish this then for the business to know what their customer's favorites are!
13. My group's Bar-Code is not being read by the moble app scanner?
If your Bar-code is having trouble being scanned the most common problem is that there is not enough light for the Bar-Code to be scanned. Place your Bar-Code printout in an area that has more light.
Mobile App (Ready to be downloaded on your Andriod systems)
1. Why was this app created and what purpose does it serve?
This app was developed to make every user's experience better! Search and view public user's profiles quickly from your phone. Join groups from the app directly or use the new photo scan feature.
2. What is the photo scan feature?
Every group on FAVsmile has a unique Bar-Code that can be recognized by the app. When these Bar-Codes are scanned the signed-in user will join the group. This feature was created to make joing a group much easier.
3. How do I use the photo scan feature?
Hit "Scan to Join group" (located on the top-right of the app). This will automatically launch your mobile camera. The camera will show a box in the middle of the viewer. Place the Bar-Code within this box and it will automatically read the Bar-Code. You will be asked to confirm that you would like to join this group and when you hit "Yes" you will join. Simple and Easy.
4. Can I change my favorites or start a group from the mobile app?
Any changes must be made on the website. If you click on a favorite in your profile on the app, you will be asked if you would like to open your mobile browser to www.FAVsmile.com. There you will be able to make any changes you like. You can also click the help menu, which you can hit "Visit FAVsmile.com" to open your mobile browser.
5. I created a private group and it doesnt show it on the mobile app.
Only public groups are shown. Your group still exists but is not shown on the app because only people who are invited by the "creator" of the group can join.
6. How is the list of users on the tab "Members+" populated?
Only users that belong to a group you are a member of are shown is this field.
7. How do I search for a user's profile?
Click the "Users" tab, enter a name into the search field and hit "search". The field will populate with profiles that match the name searched. ONLY PUBLIC PROFILES WILL BE SHOWN!
8. Errors on the app?
If there are any errors, please email them to us so we can address them quickly. A common error is "www.favsmile.com", this means that your connectivity from your phone is low, once your connectivity returns the app will work properly. A user will also get another common error if they are logged into the website and the mobile app at the same time. To use the mobile app properly please logout of the website.
9. Privacy and the mobile application?
The mobile app was developed to maintain the same privacy settings as the website, the only differnce is that only PUBLIC groups are shown and can be joined via the mobile app. To reiterate only public user's profiles can be search and viewed, private profiles remain private.
